All is bizarre because all is specific

After perusing the quietly peculiar work on Mia Middleton’s site we are left thinking something like: all is bizarre because all is specific — it is clear that Middleton has no truck with generalities. Also full of beautiful and puzzling particularities is her project Strange Impressions. 🌀

Unifying awareness of such scope that afterward it makes the so-called real world seem like an alteration of the unified world.

The pointing is the destination

Sometimes a site, like a book or a film, isn’t the thing itself but exists to describe a thing (some architecture, an eminent personage, etc.). It’s there to give an impression — to point. But if you take this pointing seriously the pointing is the destination. Take installation artist Sebastian Kite’s site as an example — a pointing, but done so well it is an end in itself.

Not truth, rather engagement

Perhaps you have more to say than can properly fit on a single site. Maybe your “research” like that of Thisisipaper Studio is worthy of its own channel. If you are brimming — there is no need to be tepid about your web presence.

Not truth, rather engagement — not purity, but a perpetual blossoming of vigilant appraisal (both inward and outward, but mostly inward).

The veil that divides

Get your work up. Make it your own. Don’t complicate it. Hopefully you’re talented. That’s the start. This is what came to mind when looking at graphic designer Chantal Jahchan’s site — superlative work, serenely laid out and straightforwardly explained. Perfecto.👌

The Moons At Your Door is the finest anthology of weird and supernatural fiction we’ve had the pleasure of perusing. If ever you have breached the veil that divides the transcendentally Familiar from The Beyond this collection will ring crystalline and true. Cheers to you David Tibet!
